Mandarin

Svoje snove o putovanjima neretko pretačem u svoje odevne kombinacije. Takav svakodnevan odabir odevnih kombinacija me nije naterao da upoznam samo drugacije kulture, nego i  drugacije Marije. Za ovu objavu sam vam spremila jednu Mariju, samouverenu i hrabru kinesku damu. Saten, vez, kragna.

I have a habit of translating my dreams of travelling to the clothing combinations. Once that kind of aesthetic transformation is paired with an adequate body language, the effect is complete. That kind of everyday of daily clothing combinations didn't just make me explore other cultures, but also other versions of Marija. For this post I present you one such Marija, a confident and brave Chinese lady. Satin, embroidery, collar. If you add a pair of hair sticks and a fan, your new secret identity won't be able to escape. Photos are a courtesy of Tijana Mihajlović (tijana__mihajlovic__), who lived in Shanghai for three months and has managed to transfer some of the beauty elements onto these photos.

Classic Leather Art Workshop

Today I would like to show you a bag from Classic Leather Art Workshop (classic_leather_workshop), which was made by a kind craftsman, Dušan Svirčev. After a friend inspired him three years ago, he started working on a knife casing using a small piece of leather that he found laying around his home. His casing immediately received many positive comments and further inspired him to continue working. As his skills and experience developed, he started to spread his assortment. In his comfortable workshop he makes casings for 6 knife makers from Serbia, as well as wallets, belts, bags and equipment for hunters. As his focus lies in creating unique items which match his customers' preferences, he also creates items with engravings. He believes that this approach to work and the progress caused by it can be attributed to the Belgrade Polytechnics and the course in Management quality, where he is a student. His products can be ordered online, and Dušan will surely make them with love and send them to your home address. Maestral photographer Dragan Mujan (dragan_mujan) is responsible for the photos that can be seen in the rest of this post.

Deauville and Biarritz

Pored jednostavnosti, njihovu lepotu ističe i adaptivnost.

All of the prejudices about black being worn only in grief were demolished in year 1926 by the famous French fashion designer Gabriel Coco Chanel, by creating the cult around "little black dress" which doesn't seem any weaker even today. Seemingly plain cocktail dress has since become an indispensable part of every woman's wardrobe and a symbol for diligence, elegance and glamour. Aside from its simplicity, their beauty is accentuated by the adaptability. Without large investments and with  appropriate details, the little black dress will follow its owner through numerous transformations and will always look impeccable. Today, I want to show you one such timeless model featuring lace, through photos taken by Tijana Mihajlovic (tijana__mihajlovic__).

A evo i mene u ulozi domino dame pred objektivom Tijane Mihajlović (tijana__mihajlovic__).

First women's collections featuring materials like rubber, PVC and latex appeared druring the beginning years of the 20th century. The title of most influential revolutionaries in this area belongs to French fashion designe Thierry Mugler who put out a line of corsets made from said materials. In that honor, here's me in role of a domino lady in the lens of Tijana Mihajlović (tijana__mihajlovic__).

Pepito

I zato, pratite me kroz narednu seriju fotografija. Hvala još jednom Tijani Mihajlović (tijana__mihajlovic__) na izuzetnim fotografijama!

The history of women's suits can be traced to the first decade of the 20th century. It was then when the famous Gabriel Coco Chanel started an entire revolution by releasing a line of women's suits. Women were eager to discard the uncomfortable corsets and crinolines, and carried out another victory in the struggle for emancipation. The very word suit comes from the French word suite which means following, as every clothing item follows specific style, texture, material and design as a whole. Women have proven, over the course of several decades, that this type of conservative clothing can be very liberating, chic and full of sex appeal. So, follow me through the next series of photos. Thanks again to Tijana Mihajlović (tijana__mihajlovic__) for the amazing photos.

Pop Art

Even though American pop culture started its life in the 1950s, it made the biggest breakthrough in the 1960s. American artists respond to the ever growing commercialization of the fine arts by looking for more dramatic and darker styles to distance themselves from the conformist predecessors. The most valued works of this early period belong to artists with unpronounceable names like Jasper Jones, Robert Rauschenberg and Roy Lichtenstein. Pop art culture connects popular mass culture with high art, while adding irony, humor and recognizable visual expression. Paintings by Lichtenstein, Warhol, Wesselmann and others share a direct link to common places of American popular culture. Andy Warhol is probably the most famous figure and personification of this culture. In fact, art critic Arthur Danto once called Warhol as "the nearest thing to a philosophical genius the history of art has produced". Warhol tried and succeeded in his attempt to take pop art from art style to life style. In the rest of this post, through photographs created by my colleague Nikola Goločevac, you'll see how it affected my life style. Enjoy!

Moscow Cap

Uz njih, čak i oni najsumorniji dani mogu biti obojeni toplim bojama. Leopard print je sam po sebi upečatljiv. Kako bih na njega stavila akcenat, za ostatak odevne kombinacije sam odabrala mirnije komade. Veliko hvala Tijani Mihajlović (mardy__bum__) na predivnim fotografijama.

Of all the things that I love about Balkanska street (Belgrade, Serbia), looking at the displays of all the craftsman shops is by far a favorite. This delightful red hat was bought right there - in an old hat shop in Balkanska street. I paired it perfectly with red glasses. Brightly colored glasses are a recent discovery. With them, even the most gloomy days can be painted in vibrant and warm colors. Leopard print is on its own very impressive. To make it stand out, I used clothes that are less striking.  I'd like to thank my lovely Tijana Mihajlović (mardy__bum__) for the beautiful photographs.
